Financial Controller – Functional Packaged Food

About the role

Bajo Foods is expanding its finance function across two distinct businesses – a packaged foods operation and a cloud kitchen network. Reporting to the Founder, the Financial Controller will own financial control, compliance, and manufacturing finance while supporting rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve financial and inventory controls across own factories, contract manufacturers and cloud kitchen operations.
• Manage treasury, banking relationships, working‑capital facilities and insurance coverage for factory, inventory and operations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual book closings and drive end‑to‑end statutory audit processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash‑flow optimisation, tightening collection cycles and vendor terms.
• Maintain a clean, reconciled General Ledger as the single source of truth for the business.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, tax filings, regulatory submissions and inter‑company accounting.
• Handle manufacturing finance, fixed‑asset accounting and CapEx tracking for owned and contract production facilities.
• Lead the implementation and rollout of ERP finance modules to support scaling.
• Build, mentor and lead a finance and accounting team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control, compliance and statutory audit within a manufacturing or food‑service environment.
• Strong background in inventory management, treasury operations and insurance oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable and working‑capital discipline.
• Experience with manufacturing finance, fixed‑asset accounting and CapEx tracking.
• Track record of leading ERP finance implementations.
• Leadership experience building and managing finance teams.
