Financial Controller – Food & Beverage Cost Management

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead cost management for food and beverage operations across cafés, commissaries, and back‑of‑house areas. You will ensure profitability while maintaining high quality standards by overseeing inventory, analysing costs, and driving cost‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement, storage, and issuance of food & beverage inventory, conduct audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Analyse ingredient costs, portion sizes, menu pricing and sales trends to identify variances and optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with culinary and category teams on menu engineering to balance profitability and guest satisfaction.
• Identify and negotiate with new and existing vendors, maintain performance records and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Establish internal controls for procurement, storage and disbursement to prevent theft and shrinkage.
• Prepare regular reports, dashboards and KPIs on inventory levels, cost performance and profitability for senior management.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on cost‑control best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in food & beverage cost control or related finance functions.
• Relevant qualification such as CA Inter, CMA or MBA.
• Proven ability to manage inventory, conduct cost analysis and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Experience negotiating with vendors and implementing internal controls.
