Financial Controller – Cost Accounting

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Financial Controller to lead cost accounting and reporting activities across its global operations. The role will support month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliation and cost analysis, ensuring accurate financial information for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and delivery of month‑end close reports.
• Perform GL accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliation and cost‑center variance analysis.
• Review, validate and audit cost records, identifying trends and drivers.
• Ensure compliance controls are applied and signed off on a periodic basis.
• Develop and implement process improvements to reduce risk and increase productivity.
• Standardise accounting procedures across multiple company codes.

Required profile

• Solid financial education (Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cost controlling, cost accounting or P&L analysis.
• Self‑motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong analytical and structured working method.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment with high workload periods.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
