About the role
HSBC is seeking an experienced finance professional to join its Financial Control team as an Accounting and Analysis specialist. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and compliance with global accounting standards.
Key responsibilities
- Execute business‑as‑usual (BAU) financial accounting processes and maintain error‑free KPI reporting.
- Ensure compliance with HSBC standards, statutory requirements, and IFRS guidelines.
- Maintain 100% backup coverage for contingency events.
- Drive GL implementation projects, including testing methodologies and data flow validation.
- Perform balance‑sheet reconciliation and substantiation on a regular basis.
- Identify, build, and transition new processes into BAU.
Required profile
- CA, MBA, ICWA or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 years post‑qualification experience in accounting and reporting.
- Banking experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
Required skills
- IFRS 7, IFRS 16, IAS 37, IFRS 9, IFRS 15.
- General Ledger (GL) accounting, GL close, and analytical reviews.
- GL implementation and testing methodologies.
- Balance‑sheet reconciliation and substantiation.
- Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel.
