Financial Analyst – Business Finance (Mumbai)

About the role

The Business Finance function is responsible for revenue attribution, financial accounting and disclosures, ensuring accurate daily P&L reporting for each business unit. As a Financial Analyst you will produce daily P&L, perform variance analysis and support monthly financial control activities.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate daily T+1 P&L, attribution and analysis.
• Provide daily commentary and variance investigation to Front Office traders and senior finance managers.
• Execute monthly financial control tasks, including ledger reporting and manual journal entries.
• Investigate and resolve model vs actual discrepancies for cash, positions and P&L.
• Handle risk control exceptions and ensure compliance with risk and control guidelines.
• Manage stakeholder queries from finance directors, on‑shore management, front‑office traders, FinCon and risk teams.
• Understand trade flows and booking structures to enable accurate funding cost allocation via funds transfer pricing.

Required profile

• Experience in financial control or product control within investment banking.
• Strong understanding of financial market products such as loans, bonds, credit, derivatives, cash equity, swaps, options and futures.
• Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP (preferred).
• Familiarity with front‑to‑back investment‑banking processes (trade capture to balance sheet).
• Qualified MBA, Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
