Financial Analyst – Brand P&L & Budgeting

About the role

The Financial Analyst will support Shivalik Group’s finance function with a focus on brand‑wise profit and loss reporting, budgeting, and management information systems. Working closely with the Finance Controller and brand teams, the analyst ensures accurate, timely financial data that enables leadership to make informed pricing, cost, and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update monthly brand‑wise P&L statements, covering revenue, COGS, gross margin, overheads, and net contribution.
• Apply the group’s allocation methodology for shared costs consistently across all brands.
• Track and report gross margin %, EBITDA %, and return on capital employed at the brand level.
• Provide SKU/category‑level drill‑down analysis to explain key P&L movements.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for brands and the group.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. prior year) and highlight significant deviations.
• Prepare and circulate monthly brand P&L dashboards and the group MIS pack, including cash flow, working capital, and key financial ratios.
• Analyse pricing, discount, and trade scheme impacts on gross margins and identify cost‑efficiency opportunities.
• Monitor working‑capital metrics such as debtor days, creditor days, and inventory ageing, flagging slow‑moving stock for action.
