Finance Director – Manufacturing (Mumbai, India)

About the role

The Finance Director – India will lead the full Finance and Controlling function for a multinational manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia and North America. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role partners strategically with senior leadership to drive profitability, support expansion, and ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance business partner to the Managing Director and leadership team, providing insights for margin improvement and investment decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, rolling financial planning and deliver accurate monthly P&L, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, oversee statutory audits and manage internal controls, governance and risk frameworks.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance (corporate tax, GST/VAT), manage transfer pricing, deferred tax and regulatory filings.
• Drive cash‑flow optimisation, working‑capital efficiency, FX exposure management and banking relationships.
• Maintain ERP governance (SAP environment), improve data integrity and support finance system enhancements in coordination with global teams.

Required profile

• Senior finance leader with extensive experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational depth, influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and driving profitability.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, statutory compliance and tax regulations in India.
• Experience managing ERP systems (SAP) and leading finance transformation initiatives.
