Finance Controller - Vizhinjam Port

About the role

The Finance Controller will oversee all financial planning, reporting and control activities for the Vizhinjam Port operation. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures accurate budgeting, cost management and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, consolidation, review and finalisation of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, securing timely approvals.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance, recommending corrective actions.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS reports and coordinate performance reviews.
• Oversee the preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse expenses, receivables and working‑capital trends to drive operational efficiency.
• Manage cash flows, liquidity positions and short‑term investment decisions.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure closure of audit observations.
• Ensure completion of statutory audits within defined timelines.
• Maintain compliance with GST, EPCG obligations and all applicable statutory requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team.
• Drive adoption of modern finance systems, technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience in finance and accounts, preferably in a large organisation or infrastructure/port environment.
• Strong exposure to balance‑sheet finalisation, statutory audits and regulatory compliances.
