Finance Controller – SaaS Startup (India/US)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Controller to lead the financial operations of our fast‑growing SaaS startup across India and the United States. You will own the month‑end close, build finance systems from the ground up, and ensure compliance with both Ind AS and US GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly close for India and US entities, maintaining GL, AP, AR, and fixed assets.
• Prepare audit‑ready financials, coordinate with statutory auditors, and document accounting policies and internal controls.
• Lead ERP and finance‑tech stack selection and implementation (NetSuite, Zoho Books, Chargebee, Stripe, Gusto, Deel, Brex, Ramp).
• Design and operate the quote‑to‑cash process, including ASC 606 / Ind AS 115 revenue recognition.
• Oversee statutory compliance in India (GST, TDS, ROC) and the US (tax filings, franchise tax, sales tax nexus, R&D credit).
• Handle cross‑border tax, withholding, and DTAA planning.
• Administer ESOPs and cap table on Carta, and manage payroll and treasury functions.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification, preferably with Big 4 or top‑tier audit experience.
• 5‑8 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in a high‑growth technology startup.
• Proven track record of scaling finance functions and implementing ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, US GAAP, and SaaS revenue recognition standards.

Required skills

• ERP implementation experience (NetSuite, Zoho Books, Tally or equivalent).
• Hands‑on with billing platforms such as Chargebee and Stripe.
• Payroll systems experience (Gusto, Deel).
• Expense management tools (Brex, Ramp).
