Finance Controller – Port Operations

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead all finance and accounting activities for the Mundra and Tuna port businesses. This senior position ensures robust financial governance, supports growth initiatives, and provides decision‑making insight across budgeting, reporting, treasury, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, consolidation, review and finalisation of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, securing timely approvals and conducting periodic reviews.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS, coordinating financial performance reviews with business stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse expenses, receivables and working‑capital trends, driving corrective measures for operational efficiency.
• Manage cash flows, liquidity and short‑term investment decisions to optimise returns and ensure adequate funding.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit observations, strengthen internal controls and complete statutory audits within defined timelines.
• Maintain adherence to all statutory and regulatory compliances, including GST, EPCG obligations and other applicable laws.
• Lead, coach and motivate the finance team through effective communication, performance management and capability building.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Minimum 15 + years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in large organisations or infrastructure/port settings.
• Strong exposure to balance‑sheet finalisation, statutory audits and regulatory compliances.
