Finance Controller – Port Business

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead all finance and accounting activities for the port business, providing robust financial governance, budgeting, reporting and decision‑support to enable sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, consolidation and approval of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets and conduct periodic reviews.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS, coordinating financial performance reviews with business stakeholders.
• Oversee the preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse expenses, receivables and working‑capital trends and drive operational efficiency measures.
• Manage cash flows, liquidity and short‑term investment decisions to optimise returns.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit observations and continuously strengthen internal controls.
• Lead statutory audits, address audit observations and ensure timely completion.
• Maintain adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST and other applicable laws.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team through effective communication and performance management.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Minimum 15 + years of experience in finance and accounts.
• Experience handling end‑to‑end finance operations in a large organisation or infrastructure/port setting.
• Strong exposure to balance‑sheet finalisation, statutory audits and regulatory compliance.
