Finance Controller

About the role

Ascendion is seeking a Finance Controller to lead the end‑to‑end controllership for its service entity in Pune. The role ensures timely global close, accurate statutory reporting, robust inter‑company governance and audit readiness while driving finance process standardisation and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full fixed‑asset lifecycle – capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals and impairment testing.
• Execute lease accounting under Ind AS 116 for right‑of‑use assets, lease liabilities and modifications, and perform periodic asset‑to‑GL reconciliations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors, prepare financial statements, notes, disclosures and audit schedules, and close audit observations.
• Oversee compliance with the Companies Act, GST, TDS, Income Tax and other local filings, maintaining a regulatory calendar.
• Design and maintain risk‑control matrices, support walkthroughs and testing, enforce maker‑checker, segregation of duties and delegation of authority across close, revenue, payables and payroll.
• Lead remediation of control gaps and post‑audit action plans with measurable deadlines.
• Partner with global controllers, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR, Procurement and Internal Audit to provide analysis for management reviews and board requests.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or CA Inter qualification.
• 8‑10 years of post‑qualification experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, statutory compliance and audit processes.

Required skills

• Fixed‑asset and lease accounting (Ind AS 116).
• Statutory audit coordination and compliance (Companies Act, GST, TDS, Income Tax).
• SOX/IFC internal‑control frameworks and risk‑control matrix design.
• Financial reporting and inter‑company governance.
