Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead all finance-related activities at the Port, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and compliance. This senior position requires a strategic mindset to drive financial performance and support key investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive preparation, finalisation and approval of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, and conduct periodic reviews.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with business teams to evaluate CAPEX investment decisions through detailed financial analysis.
• Prepare and present Management Information System (MIS) reports and facilitate stakeholder review discussions.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
• Analyse expenses and receivables, proposing measures to improve efficiency and cash flow.
• Manage cash‑flow planning and short‑term investment decisions.
• Implement internal audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead statutory audits, close audit observations and ensure compliance with Service Tax, EPCG and other regulatory mandates.
• Develop team performance through communication, coaching and development initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Proven experience managing finance operations in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong expertise in financial statement preparation, balance‑sheet finalisation and statutory audits.
• Experience handling audits, compliance and financial controls in a structured environment.
