Finance Controller I

About the role

The Finance Controller I will manage the financials of assigned businesses and functions at the Philips Innovation Campus in Bangalore. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in driving value creation and supporting strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive value creation by influencing AOP, forecasts and outlooks to meet operational and financial objectives.
• Manage financial performance, deliver actuals in line with plans, and provide robust business analytics.
• Perform variance, cost, margin analysis and support periodic business reviews.
• Coordinate with Accounting Operations, Fiscal, and other finance verticals for timely month‑end and year‑end activities.
• Govern business workflows for purchase orders, invoice payments, statements of work and contingent workforce.
• Analyze and approve R&D business cases, capex and investment plans.
• Monitor productivity improvements, cost competitiveness and value creation.
• Identify risks and opportunities, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with STPI, import/export, transfer pricing and treasury requirements.
• Maintain internal controls and support internal/external audits.
• Promote process simplification through AI, automation and tech‑enabled solutions.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant or MBA with 8‑12 years of finance experience covering business partnering, FP&A, accounting, internal controls and decision support.
• Direct and indirect tax knowledge.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate decisions into financial impact.
• Experience in the software services industry is a plus.
• Background in multinational, fast‑changing environments.
