Finance Controller (Director Level)

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the finance function for Albertsons Companies India, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and effective management of payments and receivables. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines technical accounting expertise with team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review periodic financial statements and ensure timely book closure in accordance with Ind AS and US GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations and the full financial reporting process.
• Design and implement cost allocation methodologies to provide clear cost visibility across the organization.
• Drive external statutory audits, manage audit risk and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Manage vendor payments, billing and receivables while enforcing internal controls and delegation of authority policies.
• Supervise and mentor finance and accounting team members, fostering development and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting, book closure and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and US GAAP.
• Experience leading statutory audits and working with external auditors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage payments, vendor relationships and receivables.
• Leadership experience supervising finance and accounting staff.
