Finance Controller – APAC (India focus)

About the role

The Financial Controlling team at Monks is looking for a Finance Controller to oversee financial control of APAC entities, with a primary focus on India. Reporting to the APAC Financial Controller in Singapore, you will play a key role in monthly reporting, consolidation, and process improvement across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely and high‑quality financial reports for assigned entities.
• Lead the monthly consolidation process and intercompany reconciliations, coordinating with the S/4 group team.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, statutory requirements, and local tax laws, including revenue recognition.
• Act as the main liaison for external auditors and internal audit teams.
• Assist management in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, complete monthly reconciliations, and design internal controls to prevent fraud.
• Track cash flows, manage vendor payments, and anticipate financial liabilities.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, and procurement.
• Streamline accounting workflows by adopting modern financial software.
• Serve as the primary business contact for finance‑related queries and support monthly board reporting.
• Contribute to finance system implementations and transformation projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial controlling, consolidation, and reporting for multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and statutory compliance.
• Experience working with external auditors and internal audit functions.
• Ability to lead and develop an accounting team.
