Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

Atlantic Gate is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager for its newly formed Mumbai office. The role is responsible for overseeing the financial governance, reporting and compliance of the India entity, providing accurate financial information to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the local finance owner, ensuring compliance with group policies, local laws and financial reporting standards.
• Compile, analyse and report financial data to support business decision‑making.
• Reconcile accounts, identify variances and resolve issues promptly.
• Review shipment job costing, analyse profitability and operational performance.
• Prepare periodic financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements and statutory filings (VAT, WHT, CIT).
• Support month‑end closing and deliver reports to Group HQ within agreed timelines.
• Coordinate statutory audits and ensure timely closure of audit requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls, conduct internal audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.

Required profile

• Experienced finance professional with strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Familiarity with local GAAP, IFRS and group financial policies.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to present financial information to management and shareholders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Experience in the freight forwarding or logistics sector is a plus.
