Field Mechanic I – Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

About the role
The Field Mechanic I will ensure the reliability and performance of critical mechanical equipment across our energy operations. You will work on engines, hydraulic motors, pumps, compressors and related systems, providing hands‑on maintenance and rapid troubleshooting support.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including engines, hydraulic motors, pumps and compressors.
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities and document work in the CMMS.
- Conduct inspections, functional testing and diagnostics to minimise equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs and technical manuals.
- Create work orders, maintenance requests and equipment reports.
- Coordinate with supervisors and operations personnel, manage spare‑parts inventory and submit requisitions.
- Operate workshop equipment such as lathes, drill presses and grinders when required.
- Participate in emergency response drills, equipment recovery and ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO and other safety procedures.
Required profile
- Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
- 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in oil & gas, drilling, manufacturing or heavy‑industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics and power‑transmission systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
- Good computer skills and experience with CMMS.
