About the role

SAVA, a design studio specializing in western wear with a strong focus on embroidery, is looking for a full‑time Fashion Designer to create women’s collections that blend contemporary style with artisanal detailing. The role is on‑site in Surat and involves close collaboration with sourcing, production, and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original women’swear designs emphasizing embroidery, hand‑craft techniques, and high‑quality finishes.
• Conduct trend and market research to inform seasonal colour palettes, fabric innovations, and style directions.
• Create mood boards and seasonal concepts that align with SAVA’s elegant, feminine, and artisanal brand aesthetic.
• Innovate embroidery patterns and work directly with artisans to translate handwork into wearable designs.
• Prepare detailed tech packs, including sketches, measurements, fabric selections, and embroidery placements.
• Oversee sample development, ensuring prototypes meet design intent, fit standards, and brand quality.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, merchandising, and marketing to ensure feasibility and cost‑effectiveness.
• Participate in fit sessions and guide corrections on garment construction, embroidery layout, and finishing.
• Contribute to building cohesive collections that resonate with SAVA’s target audience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from a reputable institute.
• 3‑5 years of women’swear experience with a strong portfolio showcasing embroidery‑centric or artisanal work.
• Excellent attention to detail in sketching, documentation, and garment finishing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with pattern makers, tailors, and artisans.
• Effective time‑management and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
