Faculty Positions: Professor, Associate & Assistant Professor (2026)

About the role

Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriy Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV) invites applications for ten permanent faculty positions across its Schools of Language, Indian Language Studies, Translation & Interpretation, Social Work and Law. The openings include six Professor posts, two Associate Professor posts and two Assistant Professor posts covering disciplines such as Linguistics, Language Technology, English, Marathi, Translation Studies, Social Work and Law.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and tutorials in the assigned discipline.
• Design and update curricula, course materials and assessment methods.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in indexed journals and secure research funding.
• Supervise postgraduate theses, projects and field work.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees and university outreach activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in the relevant subject area as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
• Minimum experience as per rank (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) with a strong record of scholarly publications.
• Eligibility under reservation categories where applicable (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD).
• Good command of English and, where required, the regional language of instruction.
