Factory Manager - Fabrication Site

About the role

Ion Exchange is seeking a Factory Manager to lead its fabrication site in Navi Mumbai. The role involves overseeing all shop‑floor activities, ensuring safety, quality, and cost‑effectiveness while supporting the company’s growth in water‑treatment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shop‑floor operations and coordinate with sub‑contractors to meet project timelines.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, QC Engineers, Purchase and Stores teams to plan fabrication and assembly work.
• Make staffing and scheduling decisions to optimize production.
• Maintain records of free‑issue materials handed to sub‑contractors.
• Ensure a safe workplace in line with legal standards and promote a health‑and‑safety culture.
• Oversee shop organization, cleanliness, quality, and equipment maintenance.
• Guarantee compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including factory licensing under the Factories Act.
• Prepare and submit monthly performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree with 8‑10 years of factory and shop‑floor management experience.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Hands‑on experience in project execution, fabrication, assembly operations, and sub‑contractor management.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards, safety management information systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
