Fabrication Fitter

About the role

The Fabrication Fitter will join Midas Metcons' metal manufacturing team in Ahmedabad, working on the production of precision metal components and structures. This full‑time, on‑site position involves interpreting engineering drawings, laying out materials, and assembling parts to meet strict quality and tolerance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and symbols to determine work sequences.
• Mark out, cut, grind, drill and tack‑weld metal pieces according to specifications.
• Fit, align and assemble components using hand tools, power tools and clamps.
• Collaborate with welders, machine operators and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Perform dimensional inspections with vernier calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe shop floor adhering to company safety procedures.

Required profile

• Vocational training, ITI or diploma in fabrication, fitting or mechanical trades.
• Experience in industrial fabrication or heavy engineering environments is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to follow work instructions.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good housekeeping habits.
