Estimation Engineer – Electrical Control Panels

About the role

The Estimation Engineer will prepare accurate technical and cost estimates for a range of electrical control panels, including MCCs, PCCs, PLC and automation panels. You will work closely with the sales, design and procurement teams to deliver competitive pricing while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender documents and technical specifications for control‑panel projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bill of Materials (BOM) and pricing proposals.
• Select appropriate components such as PLCs, relays, breakers, contactors and VFDs based on client requirements.
• Coordinate with the design team for layout and GA drawings when needed for bidding.
• Obtain vendor quotes, negotiate prices and maintain a database of component costs and supplier contacts.
• Ensure all estimates comply with relevant electrical standards (IEC, NEC, UL, IEC 61439, UL 508A).
• Support the sales team with technical clarifications and prepare technical proposals for client submission.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in estimation for control panels or electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with LV/MV panel board design and automation/PLC systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel
• AutoCAD
• ERP or dedicated estimation tools
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs and other control‑panel components
