Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing, cross‑functional development team at Punchh, a PAR company. You will drive the creation of new cloud‑based products and enhance core systems in line with our platform strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on major projects and critical product development.
• Build, mentor, and manage an engineering team of 10‑15 engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Tech Leads to define roadmaps.
• Conduct code, architecture, and performance reviews.
• Own on‑call rotation and ensure reliability of distributed systems.
• Integrate AI/ML features and services into the platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 12+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of proven engineering management experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coach future leaders.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python, Java, C#, Golang, or Ruby on Rails.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, DevOps, and NoSQL databases.
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience building scalable microservices, web services, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Exposure to AI/ML services (OpenAI APIs, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI) and LLM‑based concepts such as prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG.
