Engineer – Specials (Bengaluru)

About the role

The Engineer – Specials will support the Specials Engineering team by applying basic engineering principles to develop and maintain generic bills of material (BOM) and related design documentation. Working under direct supervision, the role contributes to product development, feasibility studies, and cost estimation while collaborating with product and manufacturing engineering groups.

Key responsibilities

• Follow standardized engineering processes and apply basic engineering concepts.
• Analyze product information to create and manage generic BOM concepts.
• Assist in feasibility studies, manpower and cost estimates, and engineering criteria development.
• Modify existing designs with an understanding of design intent and MillerKnoll product applications.
• Develop spreadsheets and data sets for generic BOMs and support item‑master and routing rules.
• Interface with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and configuration software to ensure consistent terminology.
• Seek mentorship and approval from senior engineers and budget owners as needed.

Required profile

• Under direct coaching, able to follow defined processes and solve basic engineering problems.
• Good note‑taking, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of MillerKnoll Performance Systems (MKPS) and supply‑chain cost principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet assigned project deadlines.
