Energy Regulatory Attorney – Remote

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide specialized legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract role supports a leading global energy entity in high‑stakes regulatory proceedings and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file regulatory documents, petitions, and motions in energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed regulations, tariffs, and rate cases to assess legal risks and devise strategic responses.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector and brief leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the bar of any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities for interpreting complex regulatory frameworks.
