Employee & Labor Relations Leader

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Employee & Labor Relations Leader for India to shape and deliver employee and labour relations strategy across the country. The role partners with business leaders, HR partners and employee representatives to build a positive, inclusive and high‑performing work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guide resolution of complex employee relations matters, including grievances, investigations and disciplinary issues.
• Partner with leaders and HR teams to ensure consistent, fair and respectful approaches to employee relations.
• Lead labour relations strategy for unionised populations, supporting preparation, negotiation and implementation of collective bargaining agreements.
• Provide guidance on labour implications of business transformations such as restructuring, acquisitions and outsourcing.
• Develop and implement an Employee & Labour Relations strategy aligned with regional and global priorities.
• Assess legislative trends, support governance activities and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Use data and insights to identify trends, mitigate risks and improve workplace outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, policies and service delivery models.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law or related field.
• Significant experience in HR, employee relations, labour relations or employment law.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in complex, matrixed organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated capability to balance employee needs, business priorities and legal considerations.
