Embedded Software Architect – Gateway Solutions

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of gateway‑type embedded solutions for Bosch’s connected products. The role focuses on defining scalable, high‑performance software architectures across Linux‑based platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and system requirements into a comprehensive technical architecture.
• Define end‑to‑end embedded software layers, including drivers, middleware, and application code.
• Design scalable solutions for MCU/SoC platforms, RTOS, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Specify communication interfaces and integration strategies across subsystems.
• Ensure architectures meet safety, regulatory and quality standards.
• Integrate connectivity modules such as RF and Wi‑Fi into embedded systems.
• Assess emerging technologies (AI/ML, GenAI, data platforms) to improve platform engineering.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews and proof‑of‑concept initiatives.
• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines for embedded development.
• Mentor development teams and support complex system‑level debugging.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in embedded C/C++ development on Linux, especially for gateway products.
• Proven track record in embedded software architecture and system design.
• Hands‑on experience with kernel modules, device drivers, IPC and low‑level system development.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to balance performance, memory, power and cost.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
