Embedded Linux Developer – Gateway & Edge Computing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Linux Developer to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure gateway and edge‑computing solutions for connected products. You will work within Bosch’s Technology Powerhouse in Coimbatore, shaping end‑to‑end architectures that bridge edge devices with cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document end‑to‑end gateway system architecture, including edge hardware, middleware, connectivity, and cloud integration.
• Design modular, high‑performance software for Linux‑based embedded platforms.
• Develop board support packages, device drivers, and middleware using Yocto or Buildroot.
• Integrate industrial and IoT protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, Modbus, MQTT.
• Implement containerized services, edge AI/ML pipelines, and orchestration frameworks.
• Establish and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices for embedded systems.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong background in Electronics or Computer Engineering (BE/ME).
• Proven ability to work independently on complex, distributed systems.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ development on Linux.
• Yocto, Buildroot, BSP and device driver development.
• Multi‑threaded programming and distributed system design.
• Linux networking stack, TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Industrial protocols: MQTT, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet.
• Containerization and edge deployment technologies.
• Secure boot, OTA updates, embedded cybersecurity.
• CI/CD, automation frameworks, DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
