ELV Technician – Low Voltage Systems

About the role

The ELV Technician will install, configure, test and maintain Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address and structured cabling. The role is full‑time, on‑site in the Greater Chennai Area and requires close coordination with project engineers and site supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and maintain ELV systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, public address and structured cabling.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and project plans.
• Perform cable routing, termination and equipment mounting.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
• Troubleshoot system issues, replace faulty components and restore functionality.
• Coordinate with project engineers and site supervisors to meet project timelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and follow safety standards.
• Provide basic user guidance and support where required.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of ELV system installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Practical skills in electrical wiring, cable management and safe use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams; basic IT networking concepts are a plus.
• Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication, teamwork orientation and service‑focused mindset.
• Relevant ITI/diploma in electrical, electronics or related field; prior ELV experience is advantageous.
