Electrical Transmission Line Supervisor

About the role

The Electrical Transmission Line Supervisor will lead the stringing, sagging, clipping, hardware installation and pre‑commissioning activities for high‑voltage transmission projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify approved stringing method statements, sag‑tension charts and drum schedules.
• Inspect conductors, earth wires, OPGW, insulators, fittings, joints and hardware before use.
• Monitor pilot‑wire installation, conductor pulling, tension control and roller arrangements.
• Verify mid‑span joints, repair sleeves, dead‑end compression joints and jumper connections.
• Check sagging, temperature correction, clipping and final conductor positioning.
• Oversee OPGW jointing, splicing, joint boxes, down leads and optical testing.
• Ensure minimum electrical and statutory clearances and tower earthing continuity.
• Conduct or witness pre‑commissioning checks including continuity, insulation and clearance verification.
• Maintain detailed records of stringing, sagging, jointing and pre‑commissioning activities.
• Support final walk‑down, punch‑list closure and line‑readiness certification.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of EHV transmission line stringing experience.
• Knowledge of tension stringing, sag‑tension calculations, OPGW and transmission line hardware.
• Experience with crossing protection and pre‑commissioning checks.
• Willingness to work on‑site at Khavda or Surat and travel between project locations.
