Electrical System Installation Engineer - PDI

About the role

The Physical Design & Integration (PDI) team is looking for an Electrical System Installation Engineer to support Airframe Electrical System Installation (ESI) and Mechanical System Installation (MSI) architecture and integration activities. The role involves concept and trade‑off studies, applying new technologies, and driving improvements in weight, lead‑time and cost for aircraft projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concept and trade‑off studies for system installation.
• Apply emerging technologies to define new aircraft configurations.
• Propose and implement improvements impacting weight, lead‑time and cost.
• Ensure consistency between configured DMU and design intent for Airbus design teams.
• Collaborate with Airframe, Systems, Cabin, Industrialisation, Standardisation and Research domains.
• Drive digitalisation initiatives and report activities according to Airbus procedures.
• Travel internationally and work in a multicultural environment as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1‑5 years of experience in electrical system installation and configuration management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment and coordinate large, diverse teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5 for 3D model creation and validation.
• Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Capital Harness (advantageous).
• Understanding of DMU and product structure navigation.
• Knowledge of aircraft build processes and basic aircraft systems.
• Experience with PDM/VPM tools and linking CAD models in a design‑in‑context environment.
