Electrical Design Engineer – Servo Drives Development

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its Servo Drives development team in Bangalore. You will design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic assemblies that power cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design or modify electrical assemblies, layouts, schematics, drawings, and specifications of complex scope.
• Identify and troubleshoot a variety of complex electrical problems with limited supervision.
• Define, coordinate, perform and generate engineering test reports.
• Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope and lead or execute projects, including development of key suppliers.
• Implement concepts for complex product issues and create electrical product specifications.
• Serve as a resource for junior colleagues and lead project teams as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in electrical design or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and ability to lead small projects.
• Deep understanding of drives and controllers, including hands‑on development experience.

Required skills

• Drive and controller development.
• Hardware circuit design for controllers/drives.
• Electrical schematics and layout design.
• Knowledge of UL standards.
• Knowledge of European compliance standards.
