E-Commerce Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous, tech‑savvy E‑Commerce Accountant to join our finance team in Chandigarh. You will manage financial transactions across multiple online platforms, ensure tax compliance, and support accurate financial reporting for our growing skateboard and streetwear business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all e‑commerce transactions on platforms such as Shopify, Amazon and Flipkart.
• Reconcile sales, refunds, chargebacks and payment‑gateway data (Razorpay, PayPal) with bank statements and marketplace payouts.
• Prepare and file GST returns, handle TDS deductions, generate e‑way bills and support audit processes.
• Track inventory costs, calculate COGS and coordinate with logistics to align physical stock with financial records.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements, analyse sales performance and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement automation tools (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books) in collaboration with sales, operations and logistics teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CA/CMA/CPA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in e‑commerce or retail accounting, preferably in fashion, sports or lifestyle brands.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Tally, QuickBooks or Zoho Books and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience using Shopify, Amazon Seller Central or similar e‑commerce platforms.
• In‑depth knowledge of GST, TDS, e‑invoicing and Indian accounting standards.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and inventory management software is desirable.
