Drives Engineer (Senior)

About the role

The company is seeking a Senior Drives Engineer to lead maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of electrical drive systems across continuous‑process plants such as casters, tunnel furnaces and rolling mills. The role is based in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh and involves hands‑on work with ABB and Siemens drive families.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance for ABB (ACS580, ACS800, ACS850) and Siemens (SINAMICS S120, G120) drives.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and troubleshooting guidelines for drive systems.
• Perform detailed fault diagnostics, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Carry out drive commissioning, parameter backup/restoration, firmware upgrades and performance optimisation.
• Monitor critical drive parameters, analyse trends and propose reliability improvement initiatives.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, coordinate with OEMs and vendors, and support retrofit or migration projects.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures and plant safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance analyses and MIS presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical drives in continuous‑process industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial drive technology, power distribution, MCCs and automation interfaces.
• Hands‑on expertise with ABB ACS580/ACS800/ACS850 and Siemens SINAMICS S120/G120 drives.
• Experience in fault analysis, root‑cause investigation and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Familiarity with communication networks such as Profibus, Profinet and Ethernet/IP.
• Understanding of drive integration with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
