District Program Officer – School-Based CMD Prevention & Management

About the role

The District Program Officer will lead the implementation of PATH’s school‑based cardio‑metabolic disease (CMD) prevention and management program in Bhopal district, Madhya Pradesh. Reporting to the State Program Lead, the officer will be the primary liaison with district education and health authorities and ensure high‑quality delivery across 200 government schools.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor all program components, including school‑based awareness, behaviour change communication, screening, counselling, treatment initiation and follow‑up.
• Oversee identification, engagement and micro‑planning of the 200 target schools, coordinating with Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK), Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), UMANG and National Programme for Prevention and Control of NCDs (NP‑NCD) pathways.
• Identify implementation bottlenecks such as referral drop‑offs or data gaps and drive corrective actions promptly.
• Serve as the principal PATH interface with the District Education Officer, District Health Department, and related government teams.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with district and state stakeholders to align project activities with government priorities and standards.
• Represent PATH in official district and state‑level forums and meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing health or education programmes at the district or regional level.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple government agencies and NGOs.
• Strong organisational and monitoring skills to ensure timely delivery of programme components.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
