District Account Manager – Joint Replacement & Robotics

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a District Account Manager to drive sales of Joint Replacement (Hip & Knee) implants and VELYS Robotic Surgery solutions across assigned hospitals in Kolkata and surrounding territories, including Cuttack and areas outside Bhubaneswar. You will build strong relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, hospital purchasing teams and distributors to meet and exceed business targets.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets for joint replacement implants and VELYS robotics.
• Develop and nurture relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, key hospital decision‑makers and distributors.
• Generate demand, negotiate contracts and close business opportunities.
• Support surgeries by ensuring implant and instrument availability.
• Identify and manage tender opportunities and government contracts.
• Conduct surgeon training, product demonstrations and clinical support activities.
• Manage key accounts, consignment inventory and instrument maintenance.
• Monitor distributor performance, stock levels and replenishment.
• Track market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
• Ensure compliance with J&J policies, ethics and business practices.
• Oversee expenses, receivables and day‑to‑day business operations efficiently.

Required profile

• MBA (full‑time) preferred; graduate degree mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of medical device sales or orthopaedic pharma experience.
• Experience in joint replacement or orthopaedics, preferably handling surgeon KOLs and hospital accounts.
• Proficiency in Hindi and English.
