Distributed Control System (DCS) / Control Room Operator

About the role

The DCS / Control Room Operator will monitor and control offshore oil and gas production from the on‑shore control centre in Mumbai. Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager, the role ensures safe, efficient plant operation by supervising process parameters and responding to alarms.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor DCS, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas systems.
• Track pressure, temperature, flow, level and other critical process parameters.
• Respond to alarms, trips and abnormal operating conditions, coordinating with field operators and maintenance teams.
• Execute start‑up, shutdown and emergency operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, production reports and ensure proper handovers.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably offshore process operations.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET certification and offshore medical fitness.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and safety awareness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Experience operating Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas systems.
• Ability to monitor and interpret process parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow and level.
