Director of Recruiting, Engineering & IT

About the role

GitLab is seeking a senior leader to head its engineering and IT recruiting efforts across India and the broader Asia‑Pacific region. Reporting to the Vice President of Talent Acquisition, you will shape talent strategy, drive high‑volume hiring, and own senior and executive searches for critical technical roles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multi‑layered recruiting organization, including managers and individual contributors.
• Own 100‑200+ engineering and IT requisitions, ensuring timely delivery of quality candidates.
• Partner with engineering and IT leaders to provide market intelligence, workforce planning, and hiring prioritisation.
• Develop and document a scalable recruiting model that supports rapid growth.
• Enhance candidate experience and strengthen GitLab’s employer brand in the region.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large recruiting teams in a technology‑focused environment.
• Track record of managing senior‑level and executive searches.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into hiring strategy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of technical recruiting best practices.
• Familiarity with talent acquisition metrics and analytics.
• Experience with remote, globally distributed hiring models.
