Director of Procurement – India

About the role

The Director – Procurement, India will lead the company’s procurement function across the country, driving cost leadership, supply resilience and sustainable sourcing. Reporting to senior leadership, this role supports direct materials, indirect services, factory operations, green energy and supplier compliance while building procurement capability aligned with growth and sustainability priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute India‑wide procurement strategy aligned with business growth, profitability, cash delivery and sustainability goals.
• Lead sourcing for direct materials (fibre, filament, dyes, chemicals, packaging, technical textiles, footwear components) and indirect spend (services, energy, MRO, logistics, capital).
• Build a balanced imported and domestic sourcing model to improve cost competitiveness, lead times and supply continuity.
• Translate business priorities into category plans, sourcing actions, savings targets, cash initiatives and supplier development programs.
• Partner with global category teams to align local sourcing with global strategy and enterprise value creation.
• Drive structured sourcing through market intelligence, RFQ/RFP processes, negotiation, contracting and performance governance.
• Deliver procurement savings, cost avoidance, inflation mitigation and productivity improvements.
• Support free cash flow and DPO improvement through payment term optimization and working‑capital initiatives.
• Manage supplier risk, resilience and compliance, building pipelines for critical and high‑risk categories.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement functions at a senior level, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans across both direct and indirect spend.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings, cash improvement and supplier risk mitigation.
• Experience collaborating with global category teams and aligning local actions with global priorities.
