Director – Central Events Management Division

About the role

The Director of the Central Events Management Division provides strategic leadership for planning, coordinating and executing all university events, ensuring world‑class delivery through meticulous planning, operational excellence and continuous innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual event strategy and master calendar, establishing SOPs and quality standards.
• Lead end‑to‑end planning and execution of institutional events such as orientations, convocations, conferences, VIP visits, alumni meets and corporate functions.
• Oversee venue and stage management, technical production, rehearsals, protocol, hospitality, registration and audience management.
• Create detailed execution plans, monitor milestones, manage resources, logistics and contingency operations.
• Coordinate with university leadership, academic departments, external agencies and lead the CEMD team, volunteers and vendors.
• Prepare and monitor event budgets, negotiate contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
• Ensure branding consistency, safety compliance, crowd management and emergency preparedness.
• Produce event calendars, readiness reports, post‑event analysis and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (field not specified).
• Extensive experience in planning and executing large‑scale university or institutional events.
• Proven ability to lead multiple high‑impact events simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and team‑leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated financial prudence and risk‑management expertise.
