Director, Assurance Planning & Resourcing

About the role

This senior position leads the assurance planning and resourcing function across a multi‑country portfolio. The role is responsible for delivering a risk‑based, data‑driven assurance plan, ensuring visibility of performance, resource utilisation and emerging risks for senior governance bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a consistent, risk‑based assurance planning approach for the 2nd Line Assurance function.
• Partner with Data & Analytics and Transformation teams to prioritise assurance activities based on risk exposure, regulatory demands and business resilience.
• Lead the annual global assurance planning process, consolidate inputs, challenge coverage and maintain the approved plan throughout the year.
• Coordinate with Heads of Assurance, First Line Control Testing and Internal Audit to align coverage across the lines of defence.
• Maintain and improve frameworks for planning, resource allocation, portfolio monitoring and performance reporting.
• Provide insight‑driven reporting to senior governance forums such as GRC.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in assurance, risk management or internal audit within a large, regulated organisation.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, thematic reviews and emerging risk trends.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on data‑led decision making.
