Differential Design Lead – Transmission (e‑Axle) Projects

About the role

As a Differential Design Lead you will drive the design of differential systems for e‑Axle transmission projects, ensuring they meet OEM specifications, delivery timelines, and cost targets. You will act as the technical interface between Bosch, suppliers, and customers, guiding the development from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate OEM differential requirements and create cost‑effective, high‑performance solutions.
• Develop global supplier technical specifications (IN, CN, ROW) and collaborate with purchasing, quality, and supplier teams.
• Perform design verification of supplier proposals and own the design of bevel gear macro/micro geometry, differential housing, center bolt, shims, lubrication, and seizure resistance.
• Achieve NVH targets through stiffness optimization and conduct technical risk assessments.
• Review and release 3D models and 2D drawings in NX, ensuring compliance with Bosch standards.
• Maintain and improve differential design guidelines, mentor external designers, and ensure QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) goals.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in differential design and transmission systems.
• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• Strong manufacturing knowledge of bevel gear forging, machining, grinding, casting, heat treatment, and inspection methods.
• Proficiency in FMEA, DRBFM, and systematic problem‑solving methodologies.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

• UG‑NX and Teamcenter.
• Differential design, macro/micro geometry optimization, NVH, seizure resistance, backlash control, lubrication, and driveshaft interface expertise.
