DevOps Engineer

About the role

Barclays is looking for a DevOps Engineer to drive the evolution of its digital platform. You will work with cutting‑edge cloud‑native technologies to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑performing services that enhance customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git‑based workflows, GitLab and Harness.
• Embed quality, security and compliance checks into automated delivery pipelines.
• Operate and manage Kubernetes clusters for both stateless and stateful workloads, ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision and manage cloud environments.
• Collaborate with platform and application teams to align deployments with cloud‑native best practices.
• Support teams in adopting CI/CD best practices and improve deployment reliability.
• Work with public cloud services (primarily AWS) to host containerised applications.
• Integrate and support distributed streaming and data platforms such as Apache Flink, Kafka, Redis, and MongoDB.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes orchestration and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Harness or similar tools.
• Experience delivering Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Familiarity with distributed streaming technologies and data stores.
• Comfort working in Agile development environments and participating in sprint activities.
