About the role

United's Digital Technology team is looking for a seasoned Java developer with cloud experience to join the Mosaic program. You will design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade, cloud‑native applications that enhance the customer and channel experience across the airline’s digital ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug critical software systems, continuously improving the customer journey.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, QA, and product teams to deliver secure, high‑performance solutions.
• Build and maintain cloud‑native applications using AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and DocumentDB.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, ensuring coding standards, security, and best practices.
• Evaluate and implement alternative technical solutions to meet business needs.
• Apply AI‑assisted engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD pipelines, estimating effort and managing release plans.
• Refactor and optimize existing code for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Provide technical consultation as a subject‑matter expert to business and IT stakeholders.

Required profile

• Seasoned Java developer with proven cloud experience.
• Strong hands‑on development expertise and familiarity with software engineering best practices.
• Ability to drive delivery across multiple priorities in an agile setting.
