Design Engineer – Mechanical (CAD/PLM) – Chennai

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join our Chennai team. You will work on industrial sealing projects, translating engineering concepts into detailed drawings and bills of material while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute design tasks using CAD, PLM and ERP tools.
• Develop expertise in API piping plan requirements.
• Create P&ID, General Arrangement (GAD), fabrication and hookup drawings from design briefs.
• Generate accurate BOMs in the ERP system and release them in SAP.
• Review design inputs, identify gaps and coordinate with the basic engineering team to ensure high‑quality, on‑time deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in a design role, preferably in oil & gas, piping, heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
• Strong understanding of design and engineering principles and best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools – Solid Edge or SolidWorks.
• Experience using PLM and ERP systems, including SAP.
• Ability to produce P&ID, GAD and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of API piping standards and BOM generation.
