Design Engineer – Front & Rear Wiper System

About the role

The Design Engineer will lead the development of front and rear wiper and washer systems for vehicles, ensuring clear driver visibility in all weather conditions. This role combines mechanical design, vehicle integration and compliance with automotive regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate and integrate wiper, washer, rain‑sensor and motor control systems for front and rear applications.
• Define wipe‑coverage requirements, glass curvature compatibility, arm and blade pressure, and NVH performance.
• Coordinate vehicle build, engineering change management and cross‑functional team activities across regions.
• Manage supplier development, weight and cost reduction, and ensure homologation compliance (ECE/FMVSS/GSO).

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering.
• 3‑4 years of experience in automotive visibility components (wiper, washer, mirror, horn) with OEM/Tier‑1 exposure.

Required skills

• CAD design using CATIA in a production release environment.
• Product lifecycle management tools such as Teamcenter/PLM.
• Mechanism and product design for wiper linkage, motor and washer systems.
• Vehicle integration knowledge, including ADAS camera area cleaning.
• NVH performance validation and rain‑sensor system design.
• Homologation and regulation compliance (ECE, FMVSS, GSO).
