Design Engineer – Blow Moulding (Plastic Industry)

About the role

BD Industries, a leading plastic products manufacturer in India, is looking for a Design Engineer specialized in blow moulding. The role is based in Chembur, Mumbai and involves creating and refining engineering drawings for a wide range of plastic components used in automotive, safety, and material‑handling applications.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Develop 3D parametric models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Produce 2D installation, assembly, and part drawings.
• Apply GD&T principles and document design processes.
• Select appropriate materials based on property knowledge.
• Utilize measuring instruments for prototype verification.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability.

Required profile

• Based in Mumbai (candidates from other locations will not be considered).
• Solid foundation in engineering fundamentals.
• Understanding of plastic moulding processes – rotomoulding, injection moulding, and blow moulding.
• Experience with material properties and GD&T.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3D parametric modelling).
• AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• GD&T application.
• Knowledge of plastic moulding techniques (rotomoulding, injection, blow).
• Material properties assessment.
• Use of measuring instruments.
