Design Engineer – Automotive Interior Plastics

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the development of automotive interior plastic trim components. The role involves creating detailed 3D models, ensuring manufacturability, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring high‑quality interior parts to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop interior plastic trim components for automotive applications.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
• Conduct feasibility studies and support product development activities.
• Collaborate with CAE, manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams.
• Participate in design reviews, engineering change orders, and issue resolution.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in automotive plastic trim design (interior trim).
• Strong hands‑on experience with CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly, Surfacing & Drafting).
• Good knowledge of plastic component design guidelines and injection molding processes.
• Understanding of GD&T, DFM/DFA, tooling feasibility, and tolerance management.
• Experience working with OEMs or Tier‑1 suppliers is preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
