Design Coordinator – Solar PMC

About the role

The Design Coordinator will lead the engineering review and technical quality‑assurance process for a massive gigawatt‑scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This role bridges the PMC’s global engineering specialists, the EPC contractor’s design teams, and on‑site construction managers to ensure error‑free, timely design approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain status of layouts, single‑line diagrams, tracker drawings, string plans, cable schedules, earthing, roads, SCADA/control and MV interface deliverables for review.
• Coordinate consolidated review comments, RFIs/TQs, technical clarifications and design‑interface actions.
• Check IFC availability and approved revision use before construction release of work fronts.
• Track design changes, site modifications and associated as‑built requirements under change‑control procedures.
• Coordinate design inputs required for commissioning dossiers, punch resolution and HOTO documentation.

Required profile

• 7–10 years progressive engineering and design coordination experience in utility‑scale solar or power infrastructure.
• 4+ years direct design review experience for a PMC or Owner’s Engineer on large‑scale solar fields (250 MW+).
• Experience with mega‑scale solar park designs in India is highly advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or Renewable Energy Technology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural design analysis software such as STAAD.Pro.
• Proficiency with electrical simulation tools such as ETAP.
• Strong knowledge of Indian Standards (IS), IEC standards for solar components, CEA regulations and local state grid codes.
